Did you know that music plays an integral part in Montessori education – and that our teachers are given lessons in music as part of their Montessori training? Primary and elementary music curriculums were established by Dr Montessori to be used with the Montessori Bells and Tone Bars in their respective environments to help facilitate and enrich language development. Dr Montessori recognized that children, when exposed to a variety of musical pitch, tones and rhythm, were able to develop greater abilities to absorb and reproduce sounds necessary for language acquisition.
